Teaching your son to pee in the potty

An easy tip for teaching a boy potty training is to simply put cheerios or some other "floating" cereal in the toilet and have him take aim. Ready, Aim, FIRE is a fun way for any toddler to use the potty whenever possible.

Potty Training Hints

My name is CJ and I am the parent of 2 wonderful little girls. Our oldest is now potty training and I've learned a lot over the last few months (and am still learning a lot) about potty training solutions, potty training techniques and how to get this little girl to go pee pee and poo poo in the potty. I'm hoping that we can get some good suggestions from others who have been there before or are currently experiencing this "joyful" time in life.

My first suggestion has helped a ton:

We have the potty training elmo doll and my little girl talk it how to go potty. It got her thinking about using the potty and that's the first step.

We also took her to some neighbors houses and their little girls were able to show off their new panties and where they go potty (their own little potty chairs). That had the biggest impact by far.

We bought Potty Power (the dvd) and No More Diapers (dvd) for her. My girl has loved both of the movies and still watches them a lot. My favorite was Potty Power and that's why this blog is called Potty Power.

I'll post more thoughts and ideas as they come up. Thanks!
